The Challenge

Our client, a leading logistics company operating across the UK faced significant challenges in managing their seasonal requirements across three shift patterns in 4 locations.

The client had been let down by previous recruitment partners so approached Smart to recruit up to 200 workers to the various sites. The client needed us to meet a tight four-week lead time in order to fulfil their requirements during their peak season. This lead time included our recruitment staff completing mandatory paperwork and conducting DBS checks for each worker that was going to be attending site. The challenge was to ensure that all these processes were completed accurately and efficiently to meet the operational demands.

The Approach

To address these challenges, we rapidly established local onsite relationships to fully understand the client’s processes and requirements. We mobilised a dedicated team focused on recruitment, strict candidate vetting, and security clearance. We organised open days for potential workers to attend the office and have their documents verified, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.

Our team conducted the necessary DBS paperwork and checks required by the client. Additionally, we provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure workers were fully prepared for their shifts. A dedicated account manager was deployed to oversee the entire process and ensure all client requirements were met effectively and efficiently.

The Results

Our proactive approach and efficient processes yielded outstanding results for our client. Within the first week of our partnership, we were able to supply 80 workers who were all fully vetted and checked, we were then able to rapidly scale this to a peak supply of 175 workers.

Our partnership with the client extended across four sites in the UK, ensuring that our client had seamless operations during a critical period. The success of our efforts not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations, demonstrating our capability to handle high volume recruitment with precision and efficiency. This has resulted in a partnership that has extended beyond their peak supply and an ongoing relationship that we have continued to build.
